This CD-ROM includes the bibliographic descriptions of the Sixteenth Century Editions owned by Empoli Public Library "Renato Fucini".

Since 1997 it has been taking part to project of regional interest "Cataloguing of antiquarian books" realized by the Department of Libraries, Books and Cultural Activity of Region Tuscany.

The cataloguing, realized with the contribution of Region Tuscany, has been carried out in according to criteria suggested by the Regional Scientific Commitee "Group on Cataloguing of antiquarian books".

The standard used for bibliographic description has been ISBD(A), 2nd ed. The Italian Authors Cataloguing Rules (RICA) have been followed for the choice and form of headings.

The software used for cataloguing has been CDS-ISIS, application EDAN, release 2.0.

The cataloguing records have been worked out again in HTML language and associated to digital images of title, printer's stamps and hand-written notes of their copies.
