Catalogues

The whole holding of the library (about 120.000 items) is electronically catalogued.
The various data-bases could be looked up in the following ways:

On line catalogue (always available via internet): modern books, modern special collections, audio-visual media, electronic resources. The catalogue also contains bibliographical information about holdings of the other 14 libraries near Empoli belonging to the library network called REANET. The catalogue is monthly updated.
Local electronic catalogue (available through the public computers inside the library): in addition to the items on the on line catalogue, here you can find ancient books, periodicals, culling of periodicals, posters, manuscripts, ancient special collections. The catalogue is real time updated.

Moreover, near the entrance there is a paper catalogue provided with information about modern books catalogued from 1980 to 2000. It is going to be removed, for now, users should use it keeping in mind its chronological limits.

Lists

From these catalogues the library draws lists, either definitive (for closed collection) or periodically updated (modern books, audio-visual media, electronic resources), which could be required by the information desk or downloaded (.pdf format) from the suitable site area called Area download.

If the library does not hold a document, you can look up other libraries catalogues in order to ask for either inter-library loan or document delivery. Some useful links:
